Lisa Munson
Education Abroad AdvisorLisa Munson is an alum of North Central College and The Ohio State University with a B.A. in Global Studies and Spanish and an M.A. in Latin American Studies. She has worked at NMSU as an Education Abroad Advisor since 2023.
Advises for: Latin America, Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Greece, Cyprus, Malta, the International Student Teaching Program, and DEIL
Scheduling an Appointment
Education Abroad Advisors and the National Student Exchange Coordinator are available for individual appointments to help you evaluate program options in order to meet your academic, professional, and personal goals. Advisors can answer specific questions and guide you throughout the process of applying and preparing for your program. Appointments will be 30 minutes in length; please be punctual and prepared.
- Mondays: 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- Tuesdays: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- Thursdays: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
How to Schedule an Appointment:
- Appointments can be scheduled online through the NMSU Education Abroad Application Portal
- Select the name of the Advisor that you would like to meet with and then click “Request an appointment or information”
- Please list the following in the description box when scheduling the appointment:
- Write the name of the region(s) or program(s) you are interested in.
- Tell us when you would like to go abroad, term and year.
- For example: Summer 2025
- Include your major and GPA.
- Bring a copy of your Star Degree Audit to your appointment.
- List any topics of discussion.
- For example: application process, costs & funding, travel logistics, health & safety, etc.
- Please be as detailed as possible
Walk-in Wednesdays
During the fall and spring semesters when classes are in session, Education Abroad Advisors have walk-in advising hours available on Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Walk-in appointments will be held in-person in the Educational Services Center, Room 6. Students should check-in at the front desk. Walk-in Wednesdays will not be held during finals weeks. No appointment is needed.
